The Independent Media Commission held a 4-days workshop

In the framework of building and strengthening capacities, the Independent Media Commission (IMC) held a four-days workshop on the topic: Capacity building for social media engagement and communication with the media.

The workshop was held in the framework of the IMC cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. The workshop was attended by 15 officials from the IMC Executive Office, representatives from the OSCE and media experts engaged as lecturers in the workshop. The purpose of this workshop was to present the latest developments in the field of media.

The first topic addressed in the workshop was "Information and Meida Literacy (IML)", where participants had the opportunity to be informed about the latest trends of developments in the field of media, including technological changes, which have brought the need for an adjustment of audiovisual regulation, including especially the issue of protection against fake news.

The other topic that was addressed in the workshop was "Presence on social media and audience creation". At this point was presented the role and importance of social networks, their growing power in recent years and the competition that some social networks are making to traditional media.

The third topic in this workshop was "Communication with the media". In this topic were presented the rules and technique of communication of institutions with the media, especially of the regulator in the case of the IMC.

This activity was conducted in the framework of support for the IMC by the OSCE Mission in Kosovo.
