Independent Media Commission (IMC) in accordance with Article 8 of Law no. 04 / L-44 on the IMC, on November 8, 2021, organized a public hearing in order to make available once again to the public and stakeholders the draft Regulation on Audio and Audio-Visual Media Service Providers. This draft introduces the amendment of the IMC Regulation of 2017.

The IMC representatives once again presented the draft with the new proposals for changes, which has been in public consultation as well as the public comments that the IMC has received during the 21-day public consultation period. The draft of this regulation is put up for public consultation, where the invitation for public comments was open from 27 September 2021 to 15 October 2021. But in order to provide additional opportunities for all interested parties to provide their comments in writing for the regulation in question, the IMC has decided to extend the deadline for the open period for public comment until October 22, 2021 and during all this time stakeholders have had the opportunity to send their comments to the IMC.

The IMC has reviewed all the comments and those that have been argued on a legal basis, has put them in this draft. Now the IMC has decided to once again invite stakeholders to this hearing, to hear their comments before finalizing it and approving the regulation.

Following the roundtable discussion, participants had the opportunity to present their views and opinions on the draft regulation in question and provide their comments and suggestions.

At the end of the meeting, the IMC informed the parties present that in continuing the work on the Draft Regulation, the IMC will take into account all remarks and proposals and comments based on and legally argued, which were also presented during the public hearing.
