On November 15, 2022, representatives of the IMC and RTK welcomed at a working meeting "Partners of the Platform of the Council of Europe for the Safety of Journalists", consisting of: Roberta Taveri - ARTICLE 19, Jamie Wiseman - International Press Institute, Ricardo Gutiérrez - European Federation of Journalists, Attila Mong - Committee to Protect Journalists, Pavol Szalai - Reporters Without Borders, Radka Betcheva - European Broadcasting Union and Flutura Kusari - European Center for Press and Media Freedom.
The participants in the meeting discussed several topics of common interest in the field of media, namely the current situation in the media environment in Kosovo, media monitoring, the amendment of by-laws, the financial difficulties that the IMC is facing as a result of budget cuts, the issue of media audience measurement as well as combating fake news and media education.
The meeting also discussed the work that is being done in terms of the process of amending the Law on IMC in order to harmonize it with the new AVMS Directive and the new legal obligations that include the harmonization with the new AVMS Directive. The public broadcaster and the amendment of the Law on RTK were also discussed.
