The Independent Media Commission (IMC), on June 16, 2023, under the leadership of the Chairman of the IMC, Mr. Jeton Mehmeti, held its second regular meeting for this year.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Commission approved the President's proposal to change the agenda, putting on the agenda the case of the suspension of the business certificate of the company "Klan Kosova" Sh.p.k. and removing items 4,5,6 and 8 from the agenda.

After the approval of the agenda and minutes from the last meeting, according to the agenda, Chairman Mehmeti said that "IMC  has been informed that the General Directorate of the Agency for the Business Registry in Kosovo has suspended the business certificate of the company "Klan Kosova" Sh.p.k. Given that "Klan Kosova" is licensed by IMC on the basis of this business certificate and based on Regulation IMC-2021/01 which states that entities licensed for broadcasting must be legally registered in the Republic of Kosovo, the decision for the suspension of the business certificate of "Klan Kosova" puts into question the legality of the registration of this business."

After discussions about the case by other members of the IMC, the Commission, based on the recommendation of the Executive Office, made a decision where: 1. The media service provider "Klan Kosova" is obliged, within 30 days, from the acceptance of of this decision, to complete the necessary documentation for holding the broadcast license, in accordance with Regulation IMC-2021/01 for Audio and Audiovisual Media Service Providers, and 2) Failure to act in accordance with Regulation IMC-2021/01 within the deadline defined above, will result in sanctioning measures defined in the Law on IMC.

In this meeting, the Commission also discussed the annual budget of the IMC for 2024. After the members' discussions, the Commission postponed the approval of the budget to the next meeting.
