The Independent Media Commission (IMC) on December 29, 2023, under the leadership of the Chairman of the IMC Mr. Jeton Mehmeti has held the thirteenth regular meeting for this year. According to the agenda, in this meeting the Commission addressed an item on the agenda: the announcement of the competition for the position of the Chief Executive Officer in the IMC.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman Mr. Mehmeti has presented a summary of the work and main activities of the IMC during the period of one year, with data on the meetings of the Commission, licensing decisions, legal decisions, the work on amending the framework of by-laws where four regulations have been approved, the collection of debts the annual license fee, increasing transparency, including transparency on media ownership with the adoption of the regulation on this matter and the design of the new media ownership registry database, as well as the handling of a number of requests for access to public documents.

Following the meeting, the Commission reviewed the item on the agenda and after the review, based on Article 3, Paragraph 2, Item 9, and Article 18 of Law No. 04/L-44 on the Independent Media Commission, the Commission took decision on the announcement of the competition for the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Executive Office of the Independent Media Commission.

Chairman Mr. Mehmeti said that the process will be open, transparent, as defined by Regulation No. 04/2023, we managed to secure the support of the British Embassy with experts, in the recruitment process for the position of Chief Executive Officer. Therefore, all professionals who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply for this competition.
