The Chairman of the IMC Commission Jeton Mehmeti and member Luljeta Aliu as well as Deputy Chief Executive Faruk Rexhaj, from October 19-20, 2023, participated in the annual meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA). The host of the 58th EPRA meeting was the Regulatory Authority of Romania (Consiliul Național al Audiovizualului – CNA).

The agenda of the 58th EPRA Plenary Meeting has included the most important topics of mutual interest of the regulatory authorities: media and information in the public interest; media challenges in the digital market; media ownership and transparency; the future of streaming content.

In the opening session of the works, there were speakers' presentations on the topic "A reliable media market for the public good". In continuation of EPRA's work, the session "How to promote a media market framework that supports media ownership transparency, independence and sustainability" was held, where the participants presented the views of EPRA's regulatory authorities on the issue of ownership transparency .

In the second working session, the topic "The future of content provision - Adaptation of the regulatory framework to new ways of content provision" was addressed. The participants in the working session discussed the aspects of regulating new ways of distributing audiovisual content.

After the end of the working sessions, a round table was held between the regulators. Also, during the working days, the representatives of the IMC have held numerous bilateral meetings with the regulators of other countries. While the next EPRA meeting will be held in Rotterdam, on June 5-7, 2024.
