The Independent Media Commission (IMC) was visited by Mr. Christian Böttcher, Head of Culture, Media and Communication at the German Embassy in Kosovo. Mr. Böttcher was received at the meeting by the Chairman of the IMC, Mr. Jeton Mehmeti, Vice President Mr. Fatih Basha, members Mr. Besnik Berisha and Mr. Fitim Veliu as well as Deputy Chief Executive Mr. Faruk Rexhaj.

In his introductory speech, the President Mr. Mehmet first welcomed Mr. Böttcher, and then informed him about the mandate, organization and work of the IMC, in fulfillment of constitutional and legal obligations. Thanking for the reception Mr. Böttcher expressed interest in understanding more about the recent decisions of the IMC, adding the commitment of the German Embassy to support the independence of the IMC in decision-making.

The meeting also discussed some topics of interest in the field of media, with special emphasis on the work that has been done regarding the process of amending the Law on the IMC with the aim of harmonizing it with the new AVMS Directive.
